Sub – Need more positive light in society to fight mental mal-health

Respected Sir,

I, Dj, a resident of PQR Road, want to surface my notion to enlighten the people through the valued columns of your widely published national daily.

Once a learned said “Mental health is not a destination, but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you’re going.” Such was the common scenario for most of us during the lockdown. Much as the days were going by, mental health went down the trail more. The perplexity, the anxiousness about the pandemic amongst us turned into a severe mental health issue within a few days after it had started. At first, the thought of survival peeped into the minds of the rank and file in this country. Actually, they are the majority. Then the increasing number of death and the affecting number every day made all of us gloomed inside. Everyone started feeling insecure and mourned because absence makes the heart grow fonder is quite true by now. Self-doubt, fear of isolation, inner psychosis and procrastination made the mentality weaker in the next few months. It pulled us into hyper-thought, which got us into more depression. Besides, domestic violence also soared due to abrupt mental conditions among a countable number of families. As time passed, naturally, we succeeded to get us out of this situation with or without any counselling. A few are still there because of their losses.

I, therefore, would like to request you to publish my views in the yellow pages of your news daily so that society gets notified.

Thanking you,
Sincerely yours
Dj
